From Greece to Iceland

"All my life one of my greatest desires has been to travel - to see and touch unknown countries, to swim in unknown seas, to circle the globe, observing new lands, seas, peoples and ideas with insatiable appetite, to see everything for the first time and the last time, casting a slow, prolonged glance, then to close my eyes and feel the riches deposit themselves inside me calmly or stormily according to their pleasure... "

-Nikos Kazantzakis, Report to Greco
Ah, Kazantzakis, as much a part of my trip to Greece, in the end, as all the museums and mountain summits and wine and water. He knows of what he speaks. What a marvelous, perfect little month that already seems to be as a dream, now that I am back "home" at Tim's in what is serving as an excellent little HQ for these here travels.

Here are three sets of pictures that capture a small part of the past month on the road: (1) from the days on the Ionian Sea coast with Nick; (2) of my Aegean island hopping, and (3) a glimpse of 28 sunsets my eyes watched from Grecian shores.

So much else to remember... So much to savour... In all, a beautifully orchestrated trip. And after a wonderful day at the Tate Modern, Romeo & Juliet in the Globe, and The Winter's Tale at the Old Vic, it is to bed to get ready for Iceland on the morrow. What a crazy, easy, magical world indeed.
